“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.”
Peter 2:9
It’s time to straighten your crown and remember whose daughter you are.
Have you ever watched one of those romantic movies with your daughter that involves a prince falling in love with a girl from a foreign country? It is a typical scenario where the relationship is frowned upon because the girl does not have royal blood. She is not welcome in the Royal family because the nation is supposed to be ruled by a family who inherited their position through their bloodline.
But then Paul tells us that we have become a royal priesthood, a chosen nation. The blood that Jesus shed on the cross has changed our DNA. We cannot look at our brothers and sisters in Christ and not see the cross that put them in our family.
and if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory
Romans 8:17 AMP
Isn’t it amazing to think Jesus left behind the assurance that we will inherit our position in God’s kingdom? Not because we were born royal or deserve royal titles… but because Jesus shed His blood, we may become royal.
Lord as this day winds down, and I think of the word you shared with me today… I want to straighten my crown. I want the whole world to know that through Your son Jesus, I am a princess. An heir to Your Royal Priesthood. Amen
