Miriam – When Praise Leads the Way

Hello beautiful souls of the great all Mighty Father, If you’ve ever felt like your role was behind the scenes… If you’ve ever watched over others while wondering when your own breakthrough would come… If you’ve ever hesitated to lift your voice because the journey’s been hard—this post is for you.

Let’s talk about Miriam.

Miriam – When Praise Leads the Way

She was a watcher… A protector… A brave sister who stood at the edge of the Nile, guarding the life of her baby brother, Moses.

Miriam’s story begins in quiet courage. She wasn’t center stage, she was on the riverbank. But her presence mattered. Her vigilance mattered. Her voice would one day lead a nation. Years later, after God split the Red Sea and Israel walked through on dry ground, Miriam didn’t just celebrate – she led.

“Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing.”

– Exodus 15:20

She picked up her tambourine, She lifted her voice, She led the women in worship.

Miriam was more than a sister. She was a prophetess. A leader. A worshipper.

  • She helped save Moses by watching over him and speaking to Pharaoh’s daughter.
  • She was called a prophetess and led Israel in worship after the Red Sea crossing.

Pick up your tambourine. Even if your hands are tired. Even if your heart is still processing the journey. Even if you’re not sure what comes next.

Praise anyway.

Prayer: Picking Up My Tambourine

Dear Lord God, You are the One who parts seas and leads us through. You are the One who sees the watchers, the waiters, the worshippers. You saw Miriam on the riverbank, and You saw her on the shoreline of victory.

Thank You for her courage. Thank You for her voice. Thank You for her tambourine. Today, I bring You my own story – The places where I’ve stood in silence,

The moments I’ve protected others while wondering if I’d ever be seen, The seasons where I’ve waited for a breakthrough. And now, I choose to praise. Even if I’m still coming out of Egypt. Even if the journey has left me tired. Even if I don’t know what’s next.

I pick up my tambourine. I lift my voice. I lead with worship. Let my praise shake off fear. Let my worship awaken courage. Let my song remind others that You are faithful.

Use me, Lord… Not just to watch, but to lead…. Not just to survive, but to sing. Not just to follow, but to call others into freedom.

You are worthy. And I am ready. Amen.
