Reflections

I often find myself relating to Jesus, who would retreat in a boat to find solitude away from the crowds. Living on a sailboat provides me with plenty of time for deep reflection and personal conversations with my Creator. It’s in these moments of quiet that I hear His voice most clearly, and I do my best to share the insights, thoughts, and revelations from these sacred conversations with you here in this corner of our blog.

Do Not Give Away Your Value

It’s a dangerous thing, the power of words. Not just the words spoken over us by others, though those can wound deeply. It’s also the words we say to ourselves in moments of doubt or failure — the harsh inner critic that tells us we’re not enough, that we are too much, too little, too broken, too late, or too messy. I’ve felt that sting myself. I know what it’s like to look in the mirror and despise the reflection I see, to watch my own failures and disappointments pile up until they become weapons I wield against my own heart, my own sense of worth, my own identity.

I Gave My Worst, You Gave Your Blood

I gave my Worst you gave your blood

– I gave my worst.
– He gave His blood.
That is the Gospel. Not my strength, not my perfection… but His sacrifice. Every failure met by His mercy. Every sin washed by His blood.

“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

If you feel unworthy, remember: at the cross, your shame was traded for His covering.

What if today was the day

If Today Was the Day…

Whether the trumpet sounds today or not, let this be a day of reckoning… not with fear, but with faith. Not the kind of reckoning that leaves us trembling in dread, but the kind that calls us higher. The kind that invites us to examine our hearts, our habits, our hopes.

Let it stir us, not into panic, but into purpose. Let it awaken us – not to timelines, but to truth. Let it remind us that eternity isn’t far off – it’s pressing in. It’s woven into every act of love, every moment of mercy, every breath of worship.

Whether the skies split open this afternoon or the sun sets quietly on another ordinary day, we are one heartbeat closer to home. And when that trumpet does sound… whenever it may be… may it find us faithful. May it find us loving. May it find us anchored in hope.

He Knows My Name, and I Know His

THe Names of God Banner scaled

Every day, I’m reminded of the power that’s released when a name is spoken. And the greatest, most life-altering names we can speak are the names of Yahweh – our God. There is so much authority, peace, healing, and redemption in the name of Jesus. Not only because of the blood He shed, but because of who He is – Savior, King, Redeemer, Shepherd, Friend. His name is not just a title. It’s the power that turns dead ends into beginnings, battles into victories, and sinners into daughters.
