Standing In Faith

3

Faith is a powerful force that can transform our lives. It is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1).

I often find myself navigating a sea of challenges: Sailing, family responsibilities, including the best grandchildren in the world <grin>, ministry, my career, and being the best wife I can be to an amazing man, but amid all these things I find important the most pressing is God and my relationship with Him because while I focus on God and my faith in Him everything else starts falling into place. While life happens and we hit those stormy waters, faith if we let it, can emerge as a steadfast anchor. We can draw strength from God’s promises. When life’s storm rages—be it loss, illness, or unexpected twists—faith provides solace and resilience.

The Bible speaks of this in Hebrews 11:1 (NIV): “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Faith isn’t merely a passive acceptance; it’s an active trust that propels women forward. It empowers them to face adversity with courage, knowing that God’s grace sustains them. Whether juggling career setbacks, parenting challenges, or personal disappointments, faith whispers, “You are not alone.”

Empowering Women Through Faith

Christianity recognizes the intrinsic worth of women. Jesus Himself engaged with women, defying societal norms of His time. Consider the story of the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25–34). Despite her physical ailment and societal exclusion, her unwavering faith led her to touch Jesus’ cloak, resulting in healing. Jesus affirmed her faith, saying, “Daughter, your faith has healed you.”

Today, Christian women continue to draw inspiration from such narratives. They find the courage to advocate for justice, equality, and compassion. Faith compels them to challenge oppressive systems, uplift the marginalized, and extend love to those in need. In the words of Galatians 3:28 (NIV), “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Faith dismantles barriers and empowers women to be catalysts for positive change.

In conclusion, faith isn’t a passive ornament; it’s a dynamic force that shapes a woman’s identity, choices, and impact. As Christian women navigate life’s unpredictable currents, they find strength in their faith—a beacon guiding them toward purpose, resilience, and love.
