Morning Ladies, I cant believe that we are literally at the end of another year. It feels so sereal, that we would be here… I can still remember telling myself at the end of 2024 all the things I wanted to do in 2025. This makes me think of all the times we have tried to do things and the injustice we were met with.
There are so many of these stories I think each of us has carried. Moments when injustice pressed against hard against our chest, where our dignity felt like a fragile thread we so desperately tried to hold on to.
I’ve known what it’s like to be overlooked, To be wronged and blamed, To feel like the system, the culture, even where family Would rather I disappear than speak to me.
That’s why Tamar’s story is so important to each of us. She didn’t just survive injustice… She confronted it.
She didn’t just endure silence… She broke it.
And God didn’t rebuke her… He honored her.
Who Was Tamar?
Tamar was a woman caught in a web of injustice. She married into Judah’s family, first to Er, who died, then to Onan, who refused to honor her with children. Judah promised her his youngest son, but withheld him.
Tamar was left waiting, grieving, and dishonored. But she didn’t stay silent. She disguised herself, confronted Judah, and claimed what was rightfully hers… Not out of manipulation, but out of desperation for justice and legacy.
When Judah realized what had happened, he didn’t condemn her.
He said: “She is more righteous than I.” – Genesis 38:26
“She is more righteous than I.”
– Genesis 38:26
Tamar’s boldness ensured the continuation of the family line, A line that would lead to King David, and ultimately, to Jesus.
What Tamar Means for Us Today
- Tamar’s story is for every woman who’s been denied justice.
- For every woman who’s been silenced, shamed, or sidelined.
- For every woman who’s had to fight for dignity in a system that prefers her quiet.
She reminds us:
- God sees the injustice others ignore.
- God honors courage, even when it feels weak.
- God weaves redemption through the bold and the broken.
Tamar didn’t fit the mold. She didn’t follow the rules. She followed righteousness.
And heaven recorded her name in the lineage of the Messiah.
Life Application: Stand for What Is Right, Even When It’s Risky
You may be facing injustice. You may be tempted to stay silent. You may feel like your dignity is slipping through your fingers. But Tamar’s story calls you to rise. Not with vengeance, But with a holy boldness. Not with bitterness, not through hatred but through the Wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit.
God doesn’t ask you to be perfect. He asks you to be courageous. Because when justice is denied, God honors the woman who stands anyway.
Your dignity matters to God. Your voice matters. And your story may carry legacy beyond what you can see.
Closing Reflection: When God Refuses to Let Injustice Have the Final Word
Tamar’s story was never meant to be sanitized. It was meant to be seen. God didn’t hide her scandal… He highlighted her strength.
He didn’t erase the discomfort… He engraved her name into the lineage of the Messiah.
Why?
- Because Tamar represents every woman who’s been denied justice,
- Every woman who’s been silenced by systems,
- Every woman who’s had to fight for dignity in a world that prefers her quiet.
- God preserved her story not to shame her,
- But to vindicate her.
- To show that righteousness isn’t always wrapped in politeness,
- And that courage sometimes looks like confrontation.
- Tamar didn’t wait for permission… she moved with conviction.
- She didn’t flinch.
This is why her story matters.
- Because God is still raising up women like Tamar.
- Women who refuse to let injustice define them.
- Women who stand in the tension between silence and truth.
- Women who carry legacy in their womb,
Even when the world tries to shut the door.
- If you’ve ever felt dismissed,
- If you’ve ever been told to sit down,
- If you’ve ever had to fight for what was rightfully yours.
You are not forgotten. You are not disqualified. You are not too much. You are YOU…
Lord, You are the God who sees the woman the world tries to forget. You are the Defender of the dismissed, The Redeemer of the wronged, The Restorer of dignity.
I bring You my silence, My shame, My story… Not to hide it, but to let You heal it.
Like Tamar, I’ve known what it feels like, To be denied justice, To be blamed for broken systems, To be left waiting while others hold the power. But You did not turn away from her. You wrote her name into the lineage of kings. You called her righteous, When others called her scandal.
So today, I stand. Not in bitterness, But in boldness. Not in vengeance, But in vindication. Let my courage be holy. Let my dignity be restored. Let my story be rewritten by Your hand. I trust You to honor what others overlook. I trust You to defend what others dismiss. I trust You to bring justice
Even when I am messy. Because You are the God… Who refuses to let injustice have the final word.
Amen.
