I want to play devil’s advocate for a minute…
If God is love, do you think that people who don’t know God know how to love? If you don’t know how to love can you save a broken marriage or damaged people?
It’s an interesting question and it was one of the verses that God used to give me as a child when our parents were raging alcoholics. My mom says they would walk past my room and see this young 6-year-old girl praying that God would save them and show them, love.
I prayed for my parents every day until I turned 16 when God saved them. Love changes fear into empathy and pain into forgiveness. I think it has the capacity to restore a marriage and resolve childhood pain.
All of the stuff eating at you, destroying you… God is the only one that can help you.
Your husband doesn’t know how to love you if he doesn’t know the love of God to teach him, breathe peace into him, take his own hurts and insecurities away making room for you and what you need inside your marriage from him…
Knowing God’s love allows you to become your husband’s crown, being submissive the way God intended.
