A Righteous Man

Good Morning ladies, Here we are at the start of another day. Filled with the excitement of what God has in store for us in this day.

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

– James 5:16

Living in this day and age without prayer is like going to battle without a weapon. We not only need God but we need to make prayer common practice in all situations of our lives. Confessing our sins to each other and praying for each other helps us to live a whole life together healed and striving towards a life of no sin.

This verse speaks of the prayer of a person living right with God. It is a power to be reckoned with. Studying the life of Elijah, for instance, who was human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. He then prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again.

This power did not come from Elijah but from God granting the requests of a righteous man, seeking to live the life we have all been called to live.

As we stand before God today, remind yourself why living in God’s righteousness before God is important and worth striving for.

Dear Lord, as I read Your word, I am convicted in my spirit that I need You more every day, show me a person I can share my heartbreaks and moments of error with who will not judge me but love me with the love of the Lord and guide me into Your forgiveness. Amen.
