Even in the mist

We woke up this morning to a blanket of mist laying over Oudepos and across the horizon, the only thing reminding us that we were not in bed was the cold that came with the fine drops of mist rain that kept everything wet.

As I sit in front of my computer I wonder what the bible says about mist and the impact it has on all of our lives, with a quick reference check, I find this word.

Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

JAMES 4:14

It is futile to think about our future, as it is obscured from us, just as the sky and horizon are covered, hiding from me this morning. We have to realize that our lives are short and fragile. Am I saying never make plans? Certainly not, Rather make plans with the awareness that your plans will only succeed if God is in the centre, and it is in the will of the Saviour.

Therefore Fog illustrates obscurity, and indistinction; in the Bible, it is an image preceding great revelations, of our future and beyond. Looking at the scene before you, of pain, rejection, bad relationships, illness whatever it is this morning, get excited to see when your fog lifts and you see the horizon, the horizon of God’s Promise.

Our life on this earth is short, it is like mist that appears for a short time and then is gone. That is why we need to remember to set it straight now. Make right with the people in your life. Tomorrow is not guaranteed

Oudepos 26.05.2022

Jesus is your assurance and it doesn’t matter if there is fog or a black cloud that settles down upon you girls. Your walk with God is real, and He is not obscured from your vision.

Even in the thickest mist, your Saviour still calls you by name. He is an ever-present beacon, a lighthouse on a hill, a city of Hope.

Dear Lord, as this day starts and we are enfolded in a blanket of your assurance we can shout Hallelujah, this mist does not mean fear of the unknown, it does not hide our tomorrow from us, and it does not remind us of a short life on earth, it reminds us of an eternity with you. I look at this mist my Father and I feel the arms of mercy, the calling of grace and the love of Jesus. Enfold each one of our ladies, in your mercy, and remind them of Your calling of grace on each one’s lives. Amen
