Morning ladies,
Here we are, another Monday. Some mornings out on the water have been icy cold, and then others have surprised us with the soft warmth of winter sunshine. It’s reminded me again how we really have so much to be thankful for, especially the goodness of our God. He’s steady, even when life is anything but.
Savannah turned four months last week Wednesday, and let me tell you, this little pup already thinks she’s the boss of the boat. She’s full of life, finding her place, and keeping us on our toes. I watch her grow and it reminds me how God is in the little details – even in the funny, ordinary moments.
Lately, we’ve been talking about names, not just any names, but the sacred names of our Father. El Shaddai. Jehovah Jireh. Yahweh Sabaoth. Each one a revelation. Each one a reminder that our God is not abstract; He is present, powerful, and deeply personal. And every time I speak those names, my heart circles back to Jesus – the name above every name. The one who didn’t wait for me to get it together. The one who walked straight into the wreckage of my story, found me in my unworthiness, and stayed.
That name – Jesus – feels especially near right now, as I’ve been walking on a journey with a few women who’ve fallen into deep pits of despair. Pits that feel more like graves. Places so dark, it’s hard to tell if morning will ever come. And honestly? In moments like that, it’s easy to forget what hope even sounds like. Survival doesn’t just feel impossible, it feels like a fairy tale.
But the same God who is El Shaddai – the all-sufficient One-is also Immanuel. God with us. Not just with the polished versions of us, but with the ones curled up in the dark, wondering if light still remembers the way in.
So today, I want to talk to you about the Lover of my soul – Jesus, the One who came for me. The One who bled for me. The One who saw my name written in the scars on His hands and still said, “She’s worth it.”
Let’s talk about this timeless, relentless, risen Saviour – the Jesus who didn’t just die for us then, but who lives for us now.
The world has this idea that Jesus Christ is a figure locked in history – someone who walked dusty roads 2000 years ago and left His relevance there. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Jesus didn’t come too early or too late. Jesus came at the fullness of time – because Jesus, the Alpha and the Omega, is not confined by it. Jesus is timeless.
And let me say this loud for the ones in the back: The Word of God is not a relic – it’s a weapon. It’s alive. It’s sharp. It still cuts through lies. We don’t get to bend the Word to fit culture. We bend culture back to the truth of the Word. In this era of noise and compromise, where everyone wants a version of God who is comfortable and quiet, we must remember – the Jesus who wept is still the Lion of Judah. The Jesus who stretched His arms out on the cross is still Jehovah Nissi – our banner in battle.
I’m not the sum of my brokenness, I’m the story the Potter is still shaping – He is not finished with me Yet.
– Women Anchored In Hope
When Jesus-Yeshua, the Rescuer, walked to that cross, it wasn’t the end. It was the breaking open of something new. The power wasn’t just in the pain of crucifixion – it was in the silence of the tomb. Because in that stillness, Jesus waged war. Jesus didn’t rest. Jesus reclaimed. Jesus – the Commander of Heaven’s Armies – went straight into the enemy’s territory and snatched the keys to death and hell (Revelation 1:18). Jesus didn’t just face darkness – Jesus dominated it.
And today we can stand as women of Christ and know that, that victory – it was for each of us.
For the woman who’s felt overlooked. For the one who’s fought battles with invisible scars. For the mother, the sister, the daughter who’s whispered prayers is all she had left to give – Jesus carried that war into the grave so you could rise from yours. Every tear you’ve cried. Jesus caught it. Every shame you’ve carried. Jesus cancelled it. Every fear that stalks your peace. Jesus crushed it.
Jesus is Immanuel – God with us, now and always. Jesus is El Shaddai – the all-sufficient One, still enough. Jesus is Messiah, not just of history, but of your now. So no – Jesus didn’t come to make history. Jesus came to change eternity.
Don’t dilute the Gospel. Don’t downplay the cross. Jesus didn’t walk out of that grave for you to tiptoe through life like you’re powerless.
You are a daughter of the King – and Jesus, your risen Savior, fights for you still.
Some People Still Wonder If Jesus Is Still Relevant Today:
Some people say Jesus walked the earth over 2000 years ago, like that somehow makes Him outdated. Like the battle He fought, the blood He shed, and the grave He emptied doesn’t matter now in 2025. But let’s remind ourselves, that is exactly why Jesus came when He did. Not too early. Not too late. Right on time, because Jesus Christ is not bound by time. Jesus is timeless.
The Word became flesh, not for a moment, but for eternity. The Bible says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). That means who Jesus was then is still who Jesus is now. The storms may look different, the battles may feel more modern, but the victory remains the same. Jesus still wins. We live in a world trying to twist the Word of God to fit comfort zones, culture shifts, and personal preferences. But the truth? The Word of God doesn’t change because it doesn’t need to. What was true in the upper room is still true in your living room. What shook the tomb still shakes the chains off your battles. We don’t need to update the Gospel – we need to stand on it.
When Jesus walked that dusty road to the cross, the world thought it was the end. But that was just the beginning. The power wasn’t only in the crucifixion, but also in the burial and resurrection.
While Jesus lay in that tomb, something was happening:
Death thought it had won.
Hell got quiet.
The enemy held his breath.
But Jesus – the Lion of Judah – didn’t stay silent.
Jesus – the King of Kings – didn’t stay still.
Jesus – Yahweh Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts – took the war to the enemy’s house.
And there, in the place the enemy thought he had power,
Jesus snatched the keys.
Jesus broke the curse.
Jesus shattered the chains.
Jesus destroyed the grip of death.
And that victory, Woman of God, was for you.
It was for every scar you carry.
Every sleepless night you’ve survived.
Every prayer you whispered when no one else heard.
Jesus – Jehovah Nissi, your banner in battle – fought for you then and still stands for you now.
This fight you’re in? Jesus already won it.
This fear you carry? Jesus already silenced it.
This shame you wear? Jesus already buried it.
You don’t have to question if Jesus fits your present war. Jesus conquered it before you even got there.
So rise up, Daughter of the King.
Don’t water down the Word.
Don’t shrink back from the truth.
Jesus didn’t walk out of that grave for you to stay buried in yours.
Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25).
Jesus is Immanuel – God with you.
Jesus is El Shaddai – God Almighty.
Jesus is your Deliverer, your Refuge, your Risen King.
He is not outdated.
He is not irrelevant.
Jesus is everything. Right now. Still. Always.
And the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11).
What does it look like to walk daily with Jesus as my risen King?
1. Know the Name, Live the Power
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” – Proverbs 18:10
Call on Jesus – not just in church, but in traffic, at your kitchen sink, in the boardroom, or when anxiety hits like a storm. When we declare, “Jesus, my Deliverer,” we’re not just speaking a name – we’re stepping into His authority. Speak His names out loud: Immanuel. El Roi. Jehovah Shalom. They are not poetic fluff – they are promises.
2. Let the Word Do the Fighting
“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword…” – Hebrews 4:12
Every lie – “You’re not enough,” “You’ll always be afraid,” – gets silenced when we pick up our sword. Instead of agreeing with fear, respond with scripture. When shame tries to whisper, answer with Romans 8:1: “There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.”
3. Make Room for Stillness – That’s Where the War Was Won
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14
Jesus didn’t yell in the tomb. Jesus didn’t strive. Jesus subdued the darkness in perfect authority and silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is worship in your waiting, trust in your stillness, and know Jesus already tore the veil – You have free access to the King of Kings.
4. Live Like Resurrection Power Is in You (Because It Is)
“The Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you…” – Romans 8:11
Don’t downplay what’s inside of you. Holy Spirit isn’t a passive presence – Holy Spirit is power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). So forgive boldly. Pray dangerously. Love without apology. That’s how Jesus shows up through you on the regular.
5. Don’t Fit In – Reflect Jesus Instead
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” – Romans 12:2
This world doesn’t need more nice people – it needs women who glow with the presence of Jesus Christ. Stand apart not because you’re perfect but because Jesus, the Light of the World, is in you – and light can’t help but be seen.
From “Woe Is Me” to “Here I Am, Lord”
We’ve all been there. Stuck in that “oh woe is me” space – where shame echoes louder than scripture, where discouragement feels like identity, and hope feels far off. But that’s not where we’re meant to stay.
Jesus didn’t rise, so you could sit in defeat. Jesus rose, so you could rise too. So stop rehearsing what the enemy did and start repeating what Jesus finished.
There’s a difference between being honest about the battle and being chained to it. Lament has a place – but it’s not your permanent residence. It’s time we stop echoing defeat and start declaring deliverance.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” – Isaiah 60:1
You don’t crawl out of that “woe is me” space with willpower. You step out with surrender. You trade the story of lack for the truth of the cross. You put on worship like armour. You take your thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). And you move – not because it’s easy, but because He is worthy. Because Jesus – the Light of the World – is not just calling you out of darkness. Jesus is walking with you into His marvellous light.
This is not the end of your story. And not because you’ve got it all together – but because Jesus, the Resurrected King, still breathes life into dry bones and weary hearts.
So rise, Woman of God. Not pretending the wounds don’t sting. But with you scars. Because Jesus isn’t offering you a spotlight – He’s offering you a cross and a crown. He’s not just calling you out of what broke you – He’s calling you up into what will build you. Higher. Deeper. Holier. Braver.
Dear Jesus, You are the Resurrection and the Life. You are not far off – You are right here. You are Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever – and I need that forever strength right now. I come to You unpolished. The “woe is me” has worn me out, Lord. But I declare today – no more sitting in the dust. No more shrinking back.
Jesus, Light of the World, shine into every dark place in my thoughts, my heart, and my story. Where shame has clung to me, I trade it now for grace. Where fear has whispered, I answer back with faith. Where weariness has weighed me down, I receive Your resurrection power. Jehovah Nissi, lift Your banner over me again. Holy Spirit, awaken every sleeping part of my spirit. Let me walk like a woman who’s already won – because in You, I have. Remind me daily that I carry Your presence and Your promise.
Jesus, lead me forward. Not by feelings, but by Your truth. Not by fear, but by Your fire. I rise today in the name of Jesus – the Risen King, the Conquering Lion, the One who called me by name and made me new.
Amen.
