Finding favour in God

Morning Ladies, here we are again on another Tuesday morning. We are called for great things on this beautiful day, maybe to light a spark, maybe to do that thing you have been putting off for weeks, maybe to overcome a fear, or say goodbye to a dear friend. Whatever your day holds, remember you are not alone.

He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.

– Proverbs 3:34

Whilst reading this verse I started thinking of the moment Jesus was crucified and the conversations he had with the men hanging on that hill that day. Jesus was crucified between two bandits. While the crowd stood mocking and making fun of him. They shouted, “He saved others but he cannot save himself.”

One of the thieves, (Mark 15:32), recognized that Jesus was the Son of God, and asked Jesus for mercy and pardon. He offers a simple prayer, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” Jesus accepted His repentance and gives him the assurance that he will be with him in paradise.

“The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved.”

– Mother Teresa

Dear Lord, please remind us daily that falling into the trap of the crowd to treat people badly is not of God. Jesus in His death set the example of how we are to live and love. Show us, my Father, teach us how we are to live to love the people around us. Amen.
