Morning Ladies, yes it’s this time again. Where we can be silent for a second, listen to the heartthrob of our Father and know that every good and generous thing comes from Jesus.
Can you imagine being a lamb startled by a storm, charging off in the wrong direction? When you finally stop running to take stock of your situation, you find yourself in a strange and scary place where all you can hear and see are strange noises in the dark and flashes of lightning in the distance.
Can you imagine being the shepherd of those lambs? You’ll be out in the field searching for your lambs, desperately wanting them to come home where they can be safe, and no longer suffer from hunger or fear? As the shepherd, you will never want your lambs to think that you abandoned them to the wilderness where nothing grows and hungry predators are everywhere – waiting to maul and kill them.
The same goes for us. If any of us is lost, our Shepherd will be out looking for us, for our children, our families, our husbands, and our friends. Everyone is important to the Shepherd. It doesn’t matter if that lamb did something that was wrong or unacceptable in society. Unless that person chooses to turn away from Jesus, no lamb gets left behind.
You, my sister who has lost your way, just like that lamb, you will stop running and realise that you are in the wilderness. A place that is lonely, scary, and dark. When you search for safety, Grace will find you, and you will realise that Jesus had been searching the wilderness for you all this time.
The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
Jeremiah 31:3
And then daughter of the Most High, the voice of kindness and love says: “I have always loved you. Run to me, my daughter. Let me show you how much I have loved you. Let me draw you closer to me Let me show you unfailing kindness that you will always know my everlasting love”.
Dear Lord, when things get tough help me not to flee to the wilderness, but to run full speed into the arms of Jesus where I am safe and loved. Amen
